Video Games are not a Child’s Play

Playing games is very important as to the growth and development of a child. In older times our children used to play different types of games. Now, in the digital era, children can have at their fingertips all types of video games. Research has found that these can cause a lot of issues in them and affect their physical and mental wellness. Video games can create certain addictions in children and will affect negatively their behavior. Signs of game addiction could include fighting with other children, bullying, showing intense admiration for the main character in a video game, behaving like the characters, and behaving like their favorite character.

Parents may be busy with their work and they often try to replace their absence with these kinds of video games or other kinds of technological equipment. In the meantime, when the children are not cared for, they are naturally left to be on their own in the world of technology.

A new generation of parents allows their children to play video games in order to keep them occupied, hoping that it will help them to overcome their fighting nature and stubbornness.

The fact is that a child may not finish the game in an hour. This is how the game time gets longer. If your child spends three, four, or more hours a day playing video games, it can easily become an addiction.

Parents promote video games primarily because their kid sits calm and quiet as they are busy with the game. But they do not realize what impact such games have in the mind of their kid. Along the path of growth, whatever comes to the mind of the children, they will definitely affect their future. When children’s minds are exposed to the criminal actions in such games for a long time undoubtedly they will have imbibed a certain criminal mindset. A child who grows up seeing all the knives, shootings, and injuries unknowingly builds up the wrong impression that human life is to end on a knife’s edge. They gradually become murderers and kidnappers.

Parents often do not consciously discourage their children from playing video games, because they think that they can be free for some time from the kid’s mischief at home. In that case, there is no point in blaming the children for their future misbehavior.  If you have failed to give enough time, care and concern for your children while they are young, how can you expect your grown-up children to behave well? They must be following the path shown to them by their father and mother during their childhood.

Another point to be considered is that certain video games portray women very poorly. They will certainly give the children a very wrong impression about women. Children with video game addiction are most often prey to a lack of interest in studies, laziness, and lack of concentration, depression, obesity, eye problems, constant headache etc.

Homes where children run around and grow up are full of laughter. Parents should take care to ensure that their children are on the right track. Set limits for video games.

Parents can limit video game playing to one day a week, or occasionally. Let them play with other children. Game addicts also experience chemical changes similar to those seen in drug addicts. Inculcate good habits in children at an early age.

Parents should be able to talk and behave with them in a friendly manner. If that is possible, children will not go after video games or anything else. Invest your time as you invest money for their physical wellness. They will recompense you with a higher amount of care and concern when you need them in the future.
