Saint Joseph is a silent role model in the family. Throughout their long journeys to Bethlehem, Egypt, and Nazareth, Joseph cared for Mary and Jesus. He had taken care of his wife Mary and son Jesus until his death. Joseph subjected himself to God’s will in suffering and hardship. He listened attentively to the will of God. It worked without a doubt. Jesus was cared for with the love and care of Saint Joseph.
1. Justice
The scripture says, “He was righteous.” He was a man who lived a life of justice, honesty, and respect for others.
2. Obedient before the Will of God
Joseph was a man who tried to live and preserve the voice of God spoken in dreams literally in his life. He acted as God had commanded him to receive Mary, who was found pregnant before marriage, to flee to Egypt and return to Nazareth. Joseph is a great example of submission to the will of God.
3. Guardian
Joseph was ready to save the baby Jesus from Herod. God the Father entrusted Joseph with the care and protection of his only begotten Son. There was no other person on earth who was as honorable and self-sacrificing as Joseph as God’s adoptive father.
4. Responsible Life
Joseph was a man whom God had entrusted to save the lives of two holy spirits on this earth. Joseph took that responsibility very boldly. He was responsible enough to rise to the challenge of being responsible for their livelihood and welfare.
5. Guardian of Virgins
Joseph is a model of holiness, as he was a good Father. He is the Guardian of those who lead a virgin life on this earth.
6. Loyalty
Saint Luke repeats in his Gospel how Joseph acted in accordance with the law of the Lord. The loyalty that Joseph maintained in times of crisis is a great example in this modern age.
