On Friday, January 24, during the 2025 March for Life, several women who regret having an abortion, along with men who regret their unborn child’s abortion, shared their stories in front of the United States Supreme Court steps. The March for Life is a powerful, peaceful, lively, and joyful gathering of women, men, young people, and children from all over the United States.
The speeches were coordinated by the Silent No More Awareness campaign. Laura Brown, one of the women, shared with CNA that she experienced “intense depression, anger, and suicidal thoughts” following her abortion. Brown shared a message for women facing challenging pregnancies: “Your circumstances are only temporary — abortion is permanent, and you live with that forever; it doesn’t go away.”
Janet Morana, a co-organizer of the Silent No More Awareness campaign, shared with CNA that “many babies have been saved” as a result of women sharing their stories. Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, who opened the rally with a prayer, told CNA during the March that he feels this year brings “a renewed sense of hope.”
