Pope Francis to Celebrate Mass on the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe

On the occasion of the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Pope Francis will preside over a Eucharistic Celebration in Saint Peter’s Basilica on 12 December.

After the recitation of the Rosary, the Mass will begin at 6.00 PM, which will be accompanied by the songs of the Sistine Chapel Choir and the Choir of the Pío Latin American and Mexican Schools.

The Pontifical Commission for Latin America shared their joy at the announcement of this celebration and encouraged the faithful “to rediscover the profound meaning of the presence of Jesus Christ through the Virgin Mary.”

He also noted that “María de Guadalupe, in her dialogue with Saint Juan Diego, invites us to appreciate with new strength the beauty and dignity of the prophetic presence of women.”
