Pope Francis suffered a fall at his residence in the Vatican, Casa Santa Marta, resulting in a bruise on his right forearm. Fortunately, the Vatican Press Office reported that no fractures were detected, and his arm was immobilized as a precautionary measure. This incident marks the second time in recent months that the Pope has been injured, following a bruise on his face in December that occurred when he hit his chin on a bedside table.
Despite the injury, Pope Francis’ busy schedule remained unchanged on Thursday. He met with various dignitaries, including Msgr. Alberto Torriani, Archbishop-elect of Crotone-Santa Severina, and Nosipho Nausca-Jean Jezile, President of the Committee on World Food Security. The Pope also held an audience with Edmond Brahimaj, leader of the Bektashi Community of Tirana, and with the priests of the Argentine Priestly College in Rome. Photographs released by the Vatican showed the Pope greeting dignitaries with his left arm, as his right arm was held in a sling.
