Pope Francis arrived at the Larnaca International Airport (Cyprus) on Thursday. This is Pope’s 35th apostolic trip that, in addition to this Mediterranean island, includes Greece, where he will arrive on 4 Saturday, December.

After the welcome ceremony at the airport, the Holy Father then moved to the capital Nicosia to meet the priests, men and women religious, deacons, catechists, associations, and ecclesial movements of Cyprus, at the Maronite Cathedral of Our Lady of Thanks.
After this, the Pontiff will go to the Presidential Palace for a courtesy visit to the President of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis. Then at 6:00 p.m. (local time), Francisco will have a meeting with the authorities, civil society, and the diplomatic corps, which will culminate this Thursday’s program.
The Vatican reported that this morning, before leaving Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis met 12 refugees. The refugees are the people who came to Italy from Syria, Congo, Somalia, and Afghanistan.
