CCBI Releases Book on “Telling the Story of Jesus in Our Context”

Bhubaneswar: The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) has released a new book titled “Telling the Story of Jesus in Our Context: The Synodal Way”.

The launch took place during the 36th Plenary Assembly of the CCBI at XIM University, Bhubaneswar. Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, President of the CCBI, formally released the book
by presenting the first copies to Archbishop George Antonysamy of Madras-Mylapore and
Archbishop Anil Couto of Delhi.

The book brings together insights from distinguished global scholars and theologians who
shared their perspectives during the 34th Plenary Assembly in 2023, held in Bangalore.

Bishop Allwyn D’Silva, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Bombay, examines the connection
between Synodality and our relationship with Mother Earth. Archbishop Felix Anthony
Machado, Bishop Emeritus of Vasai, reflects on the Church’s journey alongside all genuinely
religious people.

Archbishop Anil Couto of Delhi delves into the intrinsic link between Ecumenism and Synodality, emphasizing the importance of journeying together in the spirit of unity. Msgr.
Josef Sayer, former Director of Misereor, discusses Praedicate Evangelium, the Constitution
for the reform of the Curia and its implications for the life and leadership of the Church.
This book serves as a crucial resource for those seeking a deeper understanding of
