August 06: Blessed Anna Maria Rubatto 

Anna Maria Rubatto was an Italian Catholic nun. She was born in 1844. She became a nun in 1885. Later she became the superior of the group. She was known as the founder of the Capuchin Sisters of Mother Rubatto. She traveled to Montevideo to spread their apostolate there and in Argentina.

She died in 1904 at the age of 59 due to cancer. Through her beatification in 1993, she became the first Uruguayan person to be beatified. She was canonized on 15 May 2022 by Pope Francis.
