Pope Leo XIV’s November & December Liturgical Schedule: All Souls’ Mass, Apostolic Journey, and 400th Anniversary Celebrations

The Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff has officially released the upcoming liturgical calendar for Pope Leo XIV, outlining his scheduled public celebrations and official duties throughout November and early December 2026.

The Holy Father will begin his upcoming appointments on Monday, November 2, by celebrating Mass for the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls’ Day) at Rome’s historic Campo Verano Cemetery. Returning to the venue where he presided in 2025, Pope Leo previously reflected that “Christian faith, founded upon Christ’s Paschal mystery, helps us to experience our memories as more than just a recollection of the past but also, and above all, as hope for the future.” Later that week, on Thursday, November 5, the Pope will offer Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica in suffrage for the cardinals and bishops who passed away over the preceding year.

Following these opening liturgies, Pope Leo XIV will embark on an international Apostolic Journey to South America from Friday, November 6, to Tuesday, November 17. His itinerary includes visits and public celebrations across Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru. Detailed information and schedules for the papal trip are available on the official Vatican website.

Just one day after returning from South America, Pope Leo will celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica on Wednesday, November 18, for the Solemnity of the Dedication of the Vatican Basilica. The occasion holds historic significance, as 2026 marks the 400th anniversary of the Basilica’s dedication. Closing out the announced schedule on Tuesday, December 8, for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Pope will make his traditional pilgrimage to Rome’s Piazza di Spagna to lead the faithful in an Act of Veneration of the Immaculate Virgin.
