Sister Inah Canabarro Lucas, a Teresian nun who was recognized as the world’s oldest person, has passed away at the age of 116. She died in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where she lived in the Casa de Acohida Santo Enrique de Ossó. Born on 27 May, 1908, Sister Inah dedicated her life to teaching and spreading faith, joining the Teresian Sisters of Brazil at 19.
Throughout her remarkable life, she witnessed significant global changes, including two World Wars and the papacies of ten popes. Her legacy includes creating marching bands and teaching various subjects at Teresian schools in Brazil and Uruguay. With her passing, Englishwoman Ethel Caterham, 115, becomes the world’s oldest person.
