The White House confirmed that US President Joe Biden will meet with Pope Francis on October 29 at the Vatican. The White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki indicated that Biden and his wife Jill will meet the Holy Father. The issues discussed like the fight against the pandemic of Covid 19, attacking the climate crisis and caring for the poor, will be the matter of subjects.
This meeting will be the first time that Pope Francis receives Biden as president of the United States. The Pope spoke by phone on November 12, 2020 to congratulate him on his election. Biden, the second Catholic President in the history of America, met the Pope in 2016 while he served as the country’s vice president.
