Vatican Calls for Global Support in Annual Peter’s Pence Collection on June 28

As Pope Leo XIV continues his worldwide ministry, the Vatican is urging Catholics to take part in the 2026 Peter’s Pence collection this Sunday, June 28 — the eve of the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul. Donations can already be made online through the official Peter’s Pence website.

The Vatican’s Secretariat for the Economy and the Dicastery for Communication emphasized that “no contribution is too small; every gift counts.” According to the Peter’s Pence Office, “It doesn’t matter whether you can offer a grain of sand or a mountain; what truly matters is participating and giving what is within your means.”

Peter’s Pence is described as an offering that, while often modest in size, carries significant symbolic weight. It represents communion with the pope as the successor of Peter and solidarity with those most in need. The funds serve two main purposes: supporting the Holy Father’s global mission — including evangelization, human development, education, peacebuilding, and fraternity — and financing direct charitable works for individuals, families, and communities affected by disasters, war, or poverty
