Three seminarians of Christ the King Major Seminary in Fayit, Fadam Kagoma, were kidnapped on Monday. Another six were injured during the attack. They were taken to hospital and discharged later. The abducted seminarians belong to the Apostles of Divine Charity and Little Sons of the Eucharist. They all are fourth year theology students.
“We ask for your closeness to us in praying for the quick and safe release of our abducted brother. Well- wishers of our institute and Seminary are encouraged to desist from taking the laws into their hands,” Fr. Emmanuel Okolo, Chancellor of the Diocese of Kafanchan wrote in a memo. He added that the country runs the risk of becoming a failed state.
This is not the first time abducting seminarians in Nigeria. There were four seminarians from Good Shepherd Seminary in Kaduna in January 2020. Three of them were released and one of them was killed, who is 18 year old, Michael Nnadi for not refusing his faith.
