Thousands Celebrated Holy Week 2024 in Nicaragua in Front of the 4,000 Police Officers

The Catholics of Nicaragua, celebrated Holy Week in 2024, even though the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega carried out a large-scale operation by placing 4,000 police officers to control, among other things, that the processions took place only inside the churches.

One of the great manifestations of faith could be seen on March 29, Good Friday, when “more than 12 thousand people participated today in the Penitential Via Crucis in Managua Cathedral,” according to the local Archdiocese; who also shared videos and photos about the other celebrations on Facebook, according to ACI Prensa.

Days before, the dictatorship deployed a large police contingent to control the more than 400 parishes of the Catholic Church in the country, where the faith is still strong despite the persecution of the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and his wife and vice president, Rosario Murillo.
