Each of us is ready to enter the new year with new decisions. The New Year is a perfect time to enhance our personal, family, and spiritual life. Many of us personally make New Year’s resolutions. But it is also important to make some good decisions for the well-being of our family. Here are some suggestions on how to make some arrangements in our family in this new year.
1. Rearrange the Objects
This New Year is a time when some places and objects in our homes need to be rearranged. This is because of the fact that household items and clothing should be neat and tidy. Also, it is a good idea to try to get the excess stored items out of use.
Cleaning simplifies daily life, reduces stress, saves space, and provides space for enjoyment. Reaching out to the user rather than throwing away the unwanted can also lead to the development of good habits in the family. Try to ask yourself, ‘Do I really need this?’
2. Set Aside Some Time Each Day to Spend with Family
The interrelationship between family members is an essential element for the sweetness of family life. Just as couples find time alone, they should also spend time with other members of the family. So share the joys and sorrows of family. A family needs analysis of things in the workplace, financial matters, and spiritual matters. Meditating on the Bible together is also essential for a good family.
3. Spend Time with Each Child Individually
Spending time with each child individually is just as important as finding time with family at home. It is good to know their little worries and needs and to understand them better.
4. Develop More Awareness about the Environment
Love for the environment and awareness of the environment is an essential fact today. It is imperative that we nurture them in our personal and family lives. Practice some good habits for that. Turn off non-essential lights after use, use less water, buy as many non-polluting products as possible, do not throw away waste, place useless batteries and light bulbs in their designated places, and make a garden.
5. Design a Family Calendar
It is essential to create a family calendar that is conducive to the spiritual growth of the family and to include suggestions for enriching the spiritual life. With such a calendar it is possible to make participation in the Holy Mass, evening prayers, and sacraments more active.
