Pope Francis received a group of journalists at the press office of the Holy See. The meeting took place in the Consistory Hall on 13 November.
The Holy Father reminded them that “the Church is not a political organization that has inside ‘right and left as it happens in parliaments”.
The reason for the unusual hearing was for the awarding of the recognition of the “Order of Pius IX” to two veteran Vatican journalists: the Mexican Valentina Alazraki and the Italian-American Philip Pullella.
The two journalists addressed a few words of thanks to those present before the Pope delivered his speech.
