The Catholic Church in Nigeria says the Christian community in Nigeria is slowly becoming a victim of genocide. Fulani Muslims are killing Christians one by one with the connivance of the government. At a webinar organized by Aid to the Church in Need International, the bishop and several clergymen from Nigeria pointed out that the attacks on Christians in the country over the past several years were not just for simple reasons.
“This is not just a matter of herdsman and grazing, it’s a silent religious war. They have a clear agenda. It is to turn the country into an Islamic state. The reason for the unwillingness to intervene and control the armed aggression is the intervention of a high level government,” he said. The Fulani had been carrying out attacks and killings for many years but not a single Fulani had been charged during this period the bishop condemned.
