The season of Lent is about to begin. The days are arriving the remembrance of the suffering of God as a man. The unequaled agony of God who died for us. It’s time to think about what we can give back to that God. We must be able to love God as God loved us. Even if it is not so, we can try to be a little closer to God and be with Him from where we are now.
Prayer is the best way to help us stay close to God. It’s a great thing to be able to turn your whole life into a prayer. You do not have the permission required to post. Through a few small actions, we can stay close to God by fulfilling all our responsibilities. Here are some shortcuts that will help us …
1. Pray as you Know
When I start praying, a question that arises in the minds of many is, Am I praying right? Is this how you pray? I can not do as others pray. These thoughts can be put on hold for a while. And do not look at how your neighbors pray. Pray in a language you know, as you know it.
2. Recognize that Life is Prayer
Prayer is not something that goes through life. Life is all about prayer. Prayer does not have to be perfect because our lives are not perfect. If you wait for the right conditions for prayer, you will never be able to pray. So start praying in whatever state you are in. Sometimes you may be at school, you may be in the hospital, you may be at work. Try to pray as much as you can anywhere.
3. Pray as you Believe
Faith is the basic element of prayer. If your life is centered on God, your prayers will be centered on him. When we believe and pray that God is with us, we can experience the presence of that God.
4. We can Pray by Loving God
Our prayers often turn out to be a matter of duty. That’s why we feel bored. Praying in love with God can eliminate this boredom. So from now on, we can try to pray by loving God.
5. God can be Seen as a Friend
The distance between God and man increases when a formality is introduced in prayer. We can change that and consider God as a friend. Let us formulate our prayers as we speak to a friend. Then it will be more enjoyable and demonstrative. May our prayer be a conversation with God who is still with us. In doing so, we can experience our whole day turning into prayer.
6. Pray with Desire
We must pray earnestly. Negative thoughts penetrate the unwilling mind. Desire helps us to pray more fervently each day. An intense desire to draw close to God will wander in search of ways to do so. Thirst for God will help us not to get tired of praying and to move forward spiritually forever.
7. Read the Scriptures
The Scripture is the Word of God. Reading the Word while praying and composing the Word from time to time will help us to stay close to God. When there are crises in life, when there are problems we can rely on the Word. We find the answer to our problems in the Word.
8. Attend Night Prayers and Church Services
You can attend the night prayers and the Holy Mass whenever you can. Sacraments can be received in close proximity. You can attend Divine Worship at least once a week. All of this will help us to sanctify ourselves, cling to God, and resist temptation.
