Pope Raises Prayers for Security in Nigeria After Terrorist Attack

Pope Francis prayed for the victims of terrorist attacks in Nigeria that took place just three days ago on 26th September. He urged the security of the citizens and expected the same to be achieved and guaranteed throughout the country.

More than 40 people were killed in the village of Mandamal in north-western Nigeria in the latest attack happened on 26th September. It is an attack that was orchestrated by an Islamist Movement, said the Nigerian Army. For last several years terrorist groups such as Islamic State are present in the country.

Pontiff has called for peace in Northern Nigeria last February for releasing of 317 hostages. And also he prayed for the liberation of the kidnapped bishop in January too.
