Pope Francis wishes Families to be in Serenity like Mary and Joseph

Pope Francis said that despite considering the difficulties, ” in the hearts of Mary and Joseph there was an underlying serenity , which came from God, came from the knowledge of being in his will, of seeking it together, in prayer and in the mutual love”.

Pope Francis met with the employees of the Holy See and the Governorate of Vatican City State, with their respective families, to wish them Christmas wishes on 22 December.

During this traditional meeting, Pope Francis recalled that “we have overcome the critical phase of the pandemic” and defended that “resuming is a job that we must all do.”

“And for this reason today I wish you serenity above all: serenity for each one of you and for your families ,” he said next.

“Serenity does not mean that everything is fine, that there are no problems, or difficulties, no, it does not mean this. The Holy Family of Jesus, Joseph and Mary shows it to us, ”he explained.

Next, the Pope recalled the difficult situation that Mary and Joseph went through when they could not find a place to stay.

“However,” said the Pope, “in the hearts of Mary and Joseph there was an underlying serenity, which came from God, came from the knowledge of being in his will , of seeking it together, in prayer and in mutual love.”

“This is what I wish you: that each one of you have faith in God and that in your families there is the simplicity of trusting in his help, of praying and thanking him,” he said.

In addition, the Holy Father wished serenity for all the children, many of whom were present at the meeting, and explained that “getting out of the crisis better is not done by magic, you have to work on yourself, calmly, with patience.” .

“I wish you serenity, in your hearts, in your family relationships, in your work. Serenity ,” she added.

Later, Pope Francis said that “at this moment in the history of the world, we are called to feel a greater responsibility to do our part in building peace.”

“And this has a special meaning for those of us who live and work in Vatican City. Not because this tiny State, the smallest in the world, has a special weight, not because of that; but because we have the Lord Jesus as Head and Master , who calls us to unite our humble daily commitment to his work of reconciliation and peace”, he assured.

Along these lines, the Pope invited those present to avoid “speaking ill of others behind their backs . ”

“If we only did this, we would be creators of peace everywhere! If something goes wrong, let’s talk directly with the affected person, respectfully, frankly. Let’s be brave, ”she asked.

Finally, he thanked those present for their work in the Vatican and said that “we all have to go forward with patience, with joy, giving thanks to the Lord who gives us this grace of work, but preserving it and also doing it with dignity.”
