On the final day of his visit to Singapore and Asia-Oceania trip, Pope Francis spent time with the elderly and sick at the “Casa Santa Teresa”, a care home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. He greeted and blessed the residents, many of whom were in wheelchairs, and asked for their prayers.
The Pope emphasized the significance of their prayers, stating that they are “very important to God” and that He “is happy” to hear them. He thanked them for their patience and prayers and offered his own prayers in return.
Pope Francis then bestowed his blessing upon the residents, assuring them that “the Lord manifests himself close to you” and that “the Lord always forgives everything.” He also granted them absolution, saying, “I manifest to you in the name of the Lord forgiveness for all of you. And I absolve you of your sins in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
The Pope concluded the visit by leading the residents in a recitation of the Hail Mary. He then departed for an interreligious meeting with young people at the Catholic Junior College of Singapore.
