Pope Francis will participate in the Prayer Meeting for Peace that will take place in the Roman Colosseum on October 25, confirmed Matteo Bruni, the Director of the Vatican Press Office on Tuesday.
The meeting, presented today at the Vatican, has been organized by the Community of Sant’Egidio under the title “The Cry for Peace” and politicians and religious representatives from all over the world will participate.
From October 23 to 25, this international meeting will take place in Rome, which will be closed with the now traditional prayer in the most emblematic monument of the Italian capital.
This is the 36th edition of this event, which returns after the pandemic at the hands of the Community of Sant’Egidio, in a context marked by the war that the Ukrainian people have been suffering for months.
