Pope Francis Laments the Islamist Attack in Moscow

Francis lamented the attack perpetrated by ISIS in Moscow (Russia), as well as the murder of a young woman and her son in Colombia. After the celebration of the Palm Sunday Mass in the Vatican, in which Pope Francis did not give the sermon and it was not read, the Holy Father led the Angelus before the thousands of faithful who were in St. Peter’s Square.

Before the Marian prayer, the Holy Father lamented that a few days ago a woman and her son were murdered in Colombia.

In the context of this tragedy, he addressed his greetings to the Community of San José de Apartado, committed to the fight for human rights in the country.

Likewise, Pope Francis assured his prayers “for the victims of the cowardly terrorist attack perpetrated the day before yesterday in Moscow.”

“May the Lord welcome them in his peace and comfort their families,” the Holy Father asked.

He also prayed that God would “convert the hearts of those who plan, organize and carry out these inhuman actions, which offend God, who commanded: ‘Thou shalt not kill.’”

The terrorist attack carried out by ISIS on the night of Friday, March 22 in Moscow has left at least 133 dead and more than 150 injured.

Four men armed with explosives entered the Crocus City Hall concert hall, in the city of Krasnogorsk, northwest of the Russian capital.
