As the month of October is the month dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, for which he urged people to recite this prayer to entrust to the Virgin Mary personal concerns, the needs of the world, and, in particular, the issue of peace.
After delivering his catechesis dedicated to the theme of familiarity in prayer, Pope Francis greeted the faithful in different languages and the Holy Father invited the faithful to say rosary in the month of October.
Greeting the Polish-speaking pilgrims, the Holy Father invited them to pray the Rosary in their communities and families to ask for the “needs in the world, especially the issue of peace.”
“In a few days the month of October begins, traditionally dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. Reciting this prayer in her communities and families, entrust to Mary her concerns and needs in the world, especially the theme of peace. May God bless you!” said Pope Francis.
On numerous occasions during his pontificate, Pope Francis has spoken about the Marian prayer of the Holy Rosary and has invited people to recite it with devotion and confidence.
On 7 October, 2020, at the feast of the Virgin of the Rosary, the Pope encouraged “to pray the Rosary and to carry it in your hands or in your pockets.”
On that occasion, the Holy Father explained that “praying the Rosary is the most beautiful prayer that we can offer to the Virgin Mary; it is a contemplation on the stages of the life of Jesus the Savior with his Mother Mary and it is a weapon that protects us from evils and temptations”.
