According to the Vatican, Pope Francis’ participation in Holy Week celebrations will be determined by the weather conditions in Rome. The Pope’s health has been stable with slight improvements since his return to the Vatican on 23 March after a 38-day hospital stay.
Pope Francis continues to use high-flow oxygen therapy and undergoes respiratory and motor physiotherapy. His recovery is progressing normally, with blood tests showing positive progress in lung function.
The Pope’s participation in Holy Week liturgies is uncertain due to his health condition and weather conditions in Rome. The Palm Sunday Mass will be presided over by Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, vice-dean of the College of Cardinals. Further information on the Pope’s presence at the Easter Triduum celebrations will be provided by the Holy See.
