The Holy See Press Office has provided an update on Pope Francis’ health, stating that his condition has further stabilized and improvements recorded in previous days have been consolidated.
According to the press office, the Pope’s clinical condition remains stable, and blood tests, clinical findings, and his response to pharmacological therapy have all been positive. However, due to the complexity of his clinical picture and the severe infection present at the time of hospitalization, he will need to continue treatment in a hospital setting for a period of time.
Despite his hospitalization, Pope Francis has been able to participate in the Roman Curia’s Spiritual Exercises via video link. He received the Eucharist and spent time in prayer in the chapel of his private apartment.
The Spiritual Exercises, led by Fr. Roberto Pasolini, OFM Cap, began on Sunday afternoon and will continue throughout the week.
