Pope Francis Calls to Pray for all Missionaries

Pope Francis reminded the faithful to pray for the missionaries at the service of the Gospel as World Mission Day is celebrated on 23 October, Sunday.

Within the framework of this celebration, Pope Francis ” asked to pray for the missionaries who write with their own lives a love story at the service of the Gospel “.

Last January, the Vatican published the message of Pope Francis on the occasion of this day, celebrated with the theme “So that you may be my witnesses”.

“The disciples are asked to live their personal lives in the key of mission. Jesus sends them into the world not only to carry out the mission, but also and above all to live the mission entrusted to them; not only to bear witness, but also and above all to be his witnesses,” said Pope Francis.

In addition, the Pope asked that “ if only all of us were in the Church what we already are by virtue of baptism: prophets, witnesses and missionaries of the Lord. With the power of the Holy Spirit and to the ends of the earth”, the Holy Father pointed out.

Mission Sunday is a day on which the Catholic Church prays for the missionaries and collaborates with the missions, promoting the missionary spirit among all the faithful.
