Pope Francis asked everyone to pray for the victims of the explosion that occurred on Friday, May 6, in a hotel in Havana (Cuba).
“Let us also pray for the victims of the explosion that occurred in a large hotel in the capital of Cuba, Havana,” the Holy Father said.
“May the Risen Christ guide them to the Father’s House and give his comfort to their relatives.”
On Friday, May 6, around 11:00 a.m., a gas explosion destroyed part of the Hotel Saratoga. According to the Government, the cause was a gas leak.
According to the BBC, the explosion has left 27 dead so far, according to the Ministry of Public Health, although a spokeswoman for the Red Cross declared that the deceased are 32.
