Pope Francis arrived in Luxembourg at 10 am (local time) after a flight of approximately two hours.
Pope Francis was welcomed by Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Prime Minister Luc Frieden and two young people who offered him flowers at the Luxembourg-Findel International Airport.
Pope Francis travelled by car to the Grand Ducal Palace for the courtesy visit to the Grand Duke of Luxembourg just after the Guard of Honour and other welcoming ceremonies.
The Holy Father did not greet the journalists on the plane as usual. After thanking them for their company, he said: “I don’t feel like doing the tour,” that is, walking around the plane to greet each journalist. “I greet you from here. And thank you,” said the Pontiff.
The Director of the Office of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni, explained that the fact that Pope Francis did not greet the Pope “is not due to his health conditions, but because it was a very short flight and there was no time.”
Pope Francis cancelled his schedule due to a “ slight flu” on 23 September, Monday. When he reappeared during the General Audience on Wednesday, seemed as he is in good health.
