Pope Francis appointed Bishop Aldo Cavalli, with a special character Apostolic Visitor for the parish of Medjugorje, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, indefinitely. The appointment is based on replacing Bishop Henryk Hoser, who died on August 10 after falling ill from COVID 19.
The Parish of Medjugorje belongs to the Marian Shrine of that town where, supposedly, there have been Marian apparitions since June 24, 1981.
Six children from this small town, which then belonged to the communist state of Yugoslavia, claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary.
According to the children’s testimony, the Virgin would also have transmitted a series of messages to them and would have made a call to the world to conversion, prayer, and fasting, in addition to revealing a series of secrets about future events.
Bishop Cavalli, who until now was Apostolic Nuncio in Belgium, assumes his new position ad nutum Sanctae Sedis, that is, at the initiative of the Holy See.
