Pope Francis Appoints New Archbishop in Argentina 

Pope Francis appointed Jesuit priest Angel Sixto Rossi as the successor of the resigned Bishop Carlos Jose Nanez from the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Argentina. 63-year-old Mons. Angel Sixto Rossi was to date councilor of the Province of the Society of Jesus in Argentina and Uruguay. Bishop Nanez turned 75 and he must submit the resignation to the Pope.

Mons. Rossi was born in Cordoba in 1958 and admitted to the novitiate in the society of Jesus in 1976. After receiving priestly ordination, he pursued a degree in spiritual theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Bishop Rossi founded the Hogar San Jose and the Fundacion Manos Abiertas, which serve people in vulnerable situations and on the streets.
