Peace Activist Br Jesudas Gabriel Passes Away

Brother Jesudas Gabriel (67), a peace activist, passed away on 10 April Monday due to a massive heart attack in Kochi, Kerala.

Being a Paulin Brother, he served the North Eastern states of India for several years. He had a zeal and enthusiasm for spreading the good news of Jesus through communication media and various initiatives. He has been working among youth, conducting training programmes for teachers and religious, Peace Clubs.

Br Jesudas formed 175 Peace Club units involving 8000 children as members from 55 schools. He had bagged the award titled “Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award for Peace.”

He also served as the executive secretary of the National Assembly of Religious Brothers in India, Deputy Director of North East Social Communications, and Regional Secretary, The Bible Commission of the North East Director, Guwahati Archdiocesan Communication Centre.
