Migrants not be Sent Back to Unsafe Countries Says Pope Francis

Pope Francis called on the international community to stop deporting migrants to unsafe countries. The Holy Father was speaking from the window of the Apostolic Place on October 24.

“I express my closeness to the thousands of migrants, refugees, and others in need of protection in Libya: I never forget you; I hear your cries and pray for you,” the Pope said. The Pontiff made an appeal to the international community to keep its promises to seek common, concrete, and lasting solutions for the management of migratory flows in Libya throughout the Mediterranean. Libya is the main transit point for migrants from Africa and the Middle East.

As per the data and study conducted by the International Christian Concern (ICC), at least 17 Egyptian Coptic Christians have gone missing in Libya. The reason for this vanish is unknown.
