The Men’s Rosary was led by the Archbishop of Miami(US), Bishop Thomas Wenski on the outskirts of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish, in which they prayed, among other intentions, for the persecuted Catholic Church in Nicaragua.
“On Saturday morning I participated in the Men’s Rosary on the grounds of Our Lady of Guadalupe (parish),” the prelate wrote on his Twitter account on 20 August.
The event in English and Spanish was organized by the brothers Servants of the Pierced Hearts, and “prayers were offered for Nicaragua, Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!”
On the Facebook page of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, it was indicated that about a thousand men “knelt with a Rosary in their hands, as ‘soldiers of Our Lady’ interceding for the most urgent intentions of our time”.
“Bringing the Rosary to Miami and other dioceses where we are present was a call to take its place in history, as Saint Joseph did. Men, be who you are!” they added.
Earlier, Archbishop Wenski denounced the closure of Catholic universities and radio stations, later encouraging people to “pray a lot for the people of Nicaragua and for their Church.”
