God knows that we need good examples to thrive in the life of faith, for which God has gifted us with innumerable saints. The first among these saints is the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the Saints. Many saints were aware of this and they were careful to imitate the life of St. Mary in their lives.
Let us examine the five virtues that were revealed in the Gospel about the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God.
1. Mary is the Most Holy
God is holy, so it was God’s plan for eternity that the beloved daughter chosen by God to give birth to the Son of God should also be so. We can see this very clearly in the Gospels: “This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about. His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 1:18). ” to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The Virgin’s name was Mary.” (Luke 1:27).
“I later realized that the Blessed Virgin Mary was the greatest grace I had ever received. I had prayed for her for many years,” says Faustina.
2. Mary is the Wisest
Mary is the queen of wisdom. We can see the prudent approach in all areas of the life of St. Mary. “But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart” (Luke 2:19). “Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.” (Luke 2:51)
To live as good means to love the Lord God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our strength, from which we can have stability. No misfortune can shake our lives. Such souls will be careful to listen to God and thereby discern things.
3. Mary is the Humble
If anyone can give a queen a word for the virtue of humility, the only person who deserves it would be St. Mary. Mary prays: “For He has looked upon his humble estate of his servant. For behold, from Now on all generations will call me blessed. looked on the humility of his handmaid. From now on all generations will call me blessed.” (Luke 1:48)
4. Mary is the Faithful
It was through faithful and full cooperation with God’s plans that Mary became the beloved daughter of God the Father. That’s what made her lucky. “Blessed is she who believed, that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” (Luke 1:45) “His mother said to the servants, ‘Do what he tells you.’ (John 2: 5). It is not enough for the disciples of Christ to preserve and live the faith, it is necessary to proclaim it, to bear witness with zeal, and to spread it. In the midst of persecution, they must be ready to proclaim Christ before the nations and to follow him on the way to the cross (CCC 1816).
5. Mary was Full of Godliness
The goal of a true devotee is to find happiness in God. Mary said, “My soul glorifies the Lord.” My soul rejoices in God my Savior. “(Luke 1: 46-47),” These were with one accord in prayer with Mary the mother of Jesus, and with the other women and his brothers “- Says St. Hillary of Poitiers.
