The judge presiding over the case of Cardinal Joseph Zen of Hong Kong tested positive for COVID-19. So the criminal trial has been delayed.
Zen, 90, the emeritus bishop of Hong Kong, was to have stood trial beginning Monday in connection to his role as a trustee of a pro-democracy legal fund, which he and other trustees are accused of failing to register civilly.
The trial was originally set on 19 September and expected to conclude with a verdict on 23 September. But it has been delayed by at least two days. Zen has been free on bail since early May.
