The Protestant YouTuber Cameron Bertuzzi, announced that he “decided to become a Catholic.”
The life-changing decision made by him came from a period of in-depth study of Christianity, which led him to conclude that “the papacy is true.”
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, in which he addresses some challenges Capturing Christianity faces for the future, Bertuzzi made his “big announcement”: “On September 20, 2022, I decided to become a Catholic.”
“I am currently in an RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program and I will be confirmed this coming Easter,” he said.
Over the past few months, Bertuzzi has dedicated his ministry and his YouTube channel to present a series of discussions and testimonials dedicated to delving deeper into Christianity.
He also presented stories and interviews to contrast the Protestant and Catholic doctrines.
Among his interviews are those conducted with the Bishop of Winona-Rochester, Msgr. Robert Barron; famous convert to Catholicism Scott Hahn; and exorcist priest Vincent Lampert.
Bertuzzi explained in his video that “this decision came at the end of an in-depth study into the evidence for and against the papacy as a Protestant.”
“I went into this studio with an open mind. Ultimately, I told myself that I would follow the evidence wherever it leads, even if that conclusion is uncomfortable for me or my family,” he said.
“My Protestant friends were very sure that it would result in a deep confirmation of my existing Protestant beliefs, but they were wrong,” he said.
However, he noted, “what I found was that the evidence strongly suggests that the papacy is true.”
Bertuzzi announced that since “my journey on this topic has concluded,” his videos will no longer address this quest but return to his “roots” of “defending pure Christianity.”
