We love to see our children grow up to be humble. But often the opposite happens. Arrogant children will be ignored by all. They might be kicked out from the So let us try to bring up our children in a humble way. The Catholic suggests some ways to grow up our children in a better way …
1. Teach them to be Servants
Christ taught the world many things through his disciples. Christ says, “Whoever wants to be first must be last and last of all.” This is the verse that Christ repeats while looking at us. The servant should never be intolerant; He should be kind and considerate of everyone.
Teach children to serve God and others in this way. Teach family members to be humble. Parents should be role models for that. Allow our children to grow in confidence. Remind them that no one will spare their humble children.
2. Encourage them to Admit their Mistakes
Most children are not ready to admit and take over if they make a mistake. It’s like a lack of pride for them. But tell children that it is the work of the proud to acknowledge the wrong done. Teach them that it is human nature to make mistakes.
Parents should not try to reprimand their children for confessing their wrongdoing. It will prevent them from telling the truth. There are parents who hide their mistakes from their children. That, too, is a false trend. ‘I made a mistake; Parents who say to each other, ‘I’m sorry,’ can be a good example for their children.
3. Develop the Ability to Consider Others
Considering others is the mark of humbleness. Children need to develop a caring attitude towards others at home. Children do not naturally have this ability. It is up to the parents to inculcate a cooperative attitude in their children. Encourage children to work cooperatively at school and in the neighborhood. Allow children to help others who are struggling in any way.
4. Appreciate the Achievements
Do not pretend not to see the achievements of children; Do not ignore them. When the task is well done, give them the word ‘well’. Behavior that ignores them will frustrate them.
Examine the attitudes of children who excel in academics and sports. There is nothing wrong with appreciating. But look at the children not being proud. Tell the children to thank God for giving them abilities.
5. Infuse Unwavering Spirituality
Children want to learn and imitate things. Teach children to always think and act positively. When you interact with children in a positive way, they will become more eager to follow your instructions. Behave in a way that boosts their confidence.
We need to remember that children care about everything we do. Do not treat them hypocritically. If they find out, they will devalue you. So be a great role model for kids.
