Epiphany 2022: Pope Francis Appreciates Prayers of Children for Mission

Pope Francis highlighted that Epiphany is the feast of missionary childhood and thanked children and young people for the prayer initiatives of the world at the conclusion of the Angelus prayer on 6 January.

“The Epiphany is, in a special way, the feast of missionary childhood, that is, of those children and young people – there are so many, in various countries of the world – who commit themselves to pray and offer their savings so that the Gospel may be announced to those who do not know him ”, said the Pope.

Along these lines, the Holy Father thanked them and reminded them that “the mission begins with Christian witness in daily life.”

Then, the Pontiff encouraged “evangelization initiatives that are inspired by the traditions of the Epiphany and that, in the current situation, use various means of communication” and mentioned, in particular, the cavalcade of the Magi that takes place in Poland.

“I wish you all a happy party. Please don’t forget to pray for me. Enjoy your lunch and goodbye ”, the Pope said to the many faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican for the Marian prayer.
