As per the data and study conducted by the International Christian Concern(ICC), at least 17 Egyptian Coptic Christians have gone in missing in Libya. They were living in an Egyptian neighborhood in Tripoli. It is unknown the reason behind their vanish. Some friends and family believe they were detained by the authorities, while others believe they were taken by an armed group. Libyan Christians face life threats from ISIS since 2014.
Libya was a common destination for the Egyptian Coptic Christian community just before the rise of ISIS. There they face marginalization and several issues regarding choosing the professional opportunities for their daily needs.
