Wednesday of the 1st Week in Ordinary Time
TIME MANAGEMENT
Time, as a non-renewable resource, is a precious gift of God. Therefore, proper Management/ Distribution of time is very important. Look at a day in Jesus’ life! Although he was a ‘crowd puller’ or ‘most wanted person’ as reminded by disciples, ‘Everyone is looking for you’ (Mk. 1:37) he had time for many aspects of life. He distributed/ managed time perfectly.
“…. he entered the house of Simon” (v.29). It means he had time for FAMILY/ FRIENDSHIP. He visits one of his most loved families for refreshing friendship.
“…they brought to him many who were ill” (v.32). It means Jesus had time for OTHERS.
“…He went off to a deserted place, where he prayed” (v.35). It means Jesus had time for GOD in prayer which is the secret of His endless energy.
He doesn’t sacrifice time intended for one aspect of life for others although there was pressure from the crowd. Work seems endless in life. Do my urban-centric, hectic, workaholic life lead to the sacrifice of time to be with God, Family or Others? Does the businessman, professional or worker in me steals the time intended for important roles in like to be a Christian, parent or a Friend? Amen.
