COMMUNITARIAN TESTIMONY
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. (Luke 10:1)
Jesus sends his disciples in groups of two to preach the gospel in the villages of Galilee Region. The band of His disciples who were multifaceted, such as the arrogant and cowardly Peter, the skeptical Thomas, the calm and contemplative Judas Thaddeus, the extremist Simeon, and the guileless Bartholomew, greedy Judas Iscariot etc. In such a scenario He must have intended a communitarian way of life by learning lessons of coexistence and community life.
Being a disciple/apostle of Christ fundamentally means living as brothers and sisters in Christ in the Trinitarian way of existence where the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are united as one community.
A disciple’s testimony to the gospel is not supposed to be individualistic or person-centered, but is communitarian. Amen.
