The Colombian nun Gloria Cecilia Narvaez Argori who was kidnapped by Muslim terrorists on February 7, 2017 in Mali was released this Saturday.
The Malian Presidency announced the news this afternoon. The saluted the courage and bravery of the sister who ages 58 belongs to the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate. “The Presidency of Mali salutes the courage and bravery of the sister. This release is the crowning achievement of 4 years and 8 months of joint efforts by various intelligence services,” the government said in a statement regarding the release on its social networks.
Sister Narvaez was abducted on February 7, 2017 in Karangasso, on the border between Mali and Burkina Faso. In May, she gave the signs of life with her handwritten letter seeking prayer for her.
“I send you all my warmest regards. May the good Lord bless you and grant you health. I have been a prisoner for four years and now I am with a new group ”, indicated Sister Narváez in her message from her.
