Colombia to Host 2025 International Congress on Religious Tourism, Focusing on Evangelization and Peace

Colombia is set to host the 2025 International Congress on Religious Tourism from May 5 to 19, under the theme “Tourism and Development: Evangelization and Peace in the Territories.” The event, organized by the Colombian Episcopal Conference, the Global Network of Religious Tourism, and the Minuto de Dios Organization Corporation, aims to explore the intersection of faith, tourism, and community development.

The Congress will take place in ten cities across Colombia, including Bogotá, Ibagué, Armero, Cartago, Guadalajara de Buga, Tuluá, Popayán, Cartagena de Indias, and Santa Marta. The event is expected to strengthen the management of religious tourism in Colombia, enhance the country’s image as a benchmark in religious tourism, and contribute to evangelization and peace in the territories through tourism.

The Congress will feature a range of activities, including conferences, workshops, and cultural events, highlighting the tourist attractions of each host city, such as cathedrals, shrines, and sanctuaries. The event is part of the celebration of the 2025 Jubilee, which focuses on hope.
