Church Beatifices her First Blessed Bride

The Church beatified young laywoman Sandra Sabattini, who became the first bride to be proclaimed Blessed in a ceremony held this Sunday, October 24, in the Cathedral of the Italian city of Rimini.

“Today in Rimini the young Sandra Sabattini, a medical student who died at the age of 22 in a road accident, is beatified. A cheerful young woman, animated by great charity and daily prayer, she dedicated herself with enthusiasm to the service of the weakest along the path of the charism of the Servant of God,” said Fr. Oreste Bezi. Her cause for beatification was promoted by Fr. Bezi himself who is the founder of the Pope John XXIII Community to which Sandra belonged. she became the first Holy Bride in the Church.

Sandra Sabatini was a medical student who was an ardent activist in the Pope John XXIII Community. She was killed by a car when she was engaged to marry Guido Rossi, with whom she dreamed of going to Africa to start a community that would serve that last of the last. She always showed an intense life of prayer, the daily Rosary and daily meditation. She met with an accident on April 29, 1984, while she was trying to cross the street. Even though she was transferred to the hospital she died on May 2.
