Pope Francis explained that a courageous and insistent prayer to be effective, as the Lord is impatient to pour out his joy in our hearts.
“Unfortunately we are the ones who keep our distance, due to shyness, laziness or disbelief,” the Pope pointed out during the prayer of Angelus on October 24 in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. The Pontiff emphasized that Jesus can do anything, everything is asked of him by explaining the blind Bartimaeus, a figure from the Bible, whose healing by Jesus is narrated in the Gospel of Saint Mark this Sunday.
After explaining the story and the healing of Bartimaeus, the Pope lamented that many of us when e pray do not believe that the Lord can do the miracle. He added that the blind Bartimaeus serve as an example with his concrete, insistent and courageous faith.
