Pope Francis once again sent Cardinal Konrad Krajewki to Ukraine with a shipment of food and medicine for those affected by the war.
Through a statement published on 22 June, Tuesday, the Department for the Service of Charity confirmed what will be the sixth visit of the Pope’s Almoner to the country at war.
According to the statement, the Cardinal’s mission will be “to be with them, pray with them and also leave them very concrete help, a sign of unity with the Pope who wants to be close to those who suffer.”
The Cardinal will travel to the city of Kherson, where the hydroelectric dam has been destroyed, causing enormous damage in the area.
More than 80 towns and cities were flooded, 20,000 hectares of farmland destroyed and more than 150 tons of oil spilled in the area.
