Bible Verses to Heal from a Verbally Abusive Relationship

Words have the power to encourage and also discourage. A simple word can empower and lead you to life and success. But the same word can destroy you. If you’ve ever had someone put you down, you will be having some wounds in your mind. Normally, it takes time to heal your wound caused by abusive words. But God can heal you through His soothing words. Your hurt feelings can be taken away from your heart.

Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 107:20: “He sent his word and healed them, and saved them from their destruction.”

Psalm 30:2: “Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.”

Psalm 23:1-3: “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths.”

Philippians 4:8-9: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you
