Two young Christians were killed and six are seriously injured and hospitalized following a clash between two families over the irrigation of fields in the Okara area in Punjab, Pakistan. A group of more than 20 Muslims, who attacked the Christian community. The group of Muslims drew pistols and rifles began firing at the group of Christian youths irrigating the land. As a result two young men, Yaqub Mukhtar and Haroon Mukhtar were killed instantly.
The Christian community demanded justice and protection from the government after this unfortunate event. It is not the first time that extremist Muslims have attacked Christian communities in Pakistan. According to the latest Religious Freedom report, Pakistan is one of the most populated countries in the world where serious violations of religious freedom occur due to Islamist extremism.
