The Archbishop of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Monsignor Jorge García Cueva, reported that Pope Francis has appointed a priest from the clergy of Buenos Aires to act as his personal secretary. This is Fr. Daniel Pellizzon, 40, who will replace Fr. Gonzalo Aemilius in office.
Bishop García Cuerva explained that the new personal secretary of the Holy Father will travel to Rome at the beginning of August to assume his task.
He also offered his prayer for the priest before “this new mission entrusted to the service of the Church.”
Fr. Daniel Pellizzon was born in the City of Buenos Aires on January 24, 1983.
In 2011 and 2012, he collaborated with the then Archbishop —Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio— in organizing his personal archive.
He received his priestly ordination on November 3, 2018.
He carried out his first years of ministry as a deacon and as parochial vicar, accompanying pilgrims at the San Cayetano Shrine, in the Liniers neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
In March 2023, he was assigned as vicar to the Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia parish, where he works to date.
